10 Creative secrets to Hack your Nutrition

Nutrition can be a complex topic. So many diets, techniques and strategies. We read what the celebrities, talk to a friend that has cut out all bread to 2 weeks to lose weight or maybe you come across articles that talk about a 20 hour fast followed by a 4 hour window.

The most IMPORTANT thing you can do for your nutrition, is something ACTUALLY sustainable. Making realistic changes and having fun with it is what you should strive for! Below I’ve added 10 creative secrets to hack your nutrition:

  1. Count Calories
    1. Now although this is no secret, I can’t stress how important it is when first starting to become more disciplined with your diet that it is to count your calories. Now, you won’t have to do this forever, but over time you will start to be able to guesstimate how many calories are in food and honestly appreciate better foods or notice how bad junk food can be. Myfitnesspal is something I use everyday—there is a premium version of it if you want to be able to get down to a science but the free version is really all you need to be able to log and see what you’re eating/drinking everyday!
  2. Cut condiments (high calorie ones anyway)
    1. I remember talking with my grandfather one day about what he eats and tried to help him lose weight. When went through hid diet, he realized it was eating about 500 calories a day of butter. BUTTER. He put it on everything it was eating! He seriously had NO IDEA he was eating that much. Even if you can’t completely cut out condiments, go to the lighter versions of what you are eating, for example: lite Mayonnaise. These small, but consistent changes will slowly allow you to get less calories from condiments and more from actual food!
